"It is our choices that show what we truly are" [May. 6th, 2005|01:31 pm]

No question about it anymore. Just had a talk with the parents, and I'll definitely be in Evanston this summer. Looking for a job to fill the time, and maybe doing a little volunteerig while I'm at it.
What this means is that I want to know who is going to be in Chicagoland that wants to be kewl and hang out at some point: I don't exactly have other friends around. Let me know, and hopefully the summer can be filled with awesomeness.

Going back to our dinering conversation, I would love to do some roleplaying over the summer. I must confess I am a stick in the mud and prefer D&D or Ars Magica (for something more obscure) to most other systems. This is simply because I like them, I have good memories of them, and I know them. I am only slightly opposed to learning new systems, but most of that is cause I am lazy.

Oh man, props for remembering Ars Magica.

That's the system where you take damage for using magic (or something like that), right?

Lots of systems have damage associated with using magic.

Not as old as ars magica though.

Magic in general wears you out, fatigue levels. Losing fatigue levels gives you minues. There is a flaw that makes you lose body levels instead, which would be actually injury.

Don't worry about it too much. I doubt I'll go to heavy on the systemizing for anything I end up running anyway, unless its something that you already know. Or an adaptation thereof.
