1)Leave me a comment saying "interview me".
2)I will respond by asking you five questions of a personal nature (I might ask you some tough questions).
3)You will update your LJ with the answers.
4)You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the post.
5)When others ask to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.
1. Fire Emblem or NFL Street?
Fire Emblem for sure. The plot is terribly Japanese, but at least it has a plot. I also much prefer tactical strategy games to football.
2. You seem to like politics, why?
There really is no easy answer to this, of course. The first part, my practical involvement: I care a lot that the various groups that I'm a part of are running smoothly, and the only way to influence whether or not they run smoothly is to become involved. Of course, I'm not particularily good at dealing with large groups of people, which is why I have a definite preference for committee work. At this point, I'm really enjoying being an old hand: being a political insider gives me a valuable knowledge monopoly that I can use to assist people, and allow me have an entirely different kind of gossip to play around with.
Second part, my academic interest: I am interested very generally i how humans organize thenselves and construct their societies. Ideally, I'd eventually like to come to some theoretical point where I could use Psychohistory (read Foundation by Asimov, you'll understand), although I don't think that's possible. Politics is generally what is most visible in society: and depending on how you define the word, politics has a lot to do with even informal kinds of organization. Politics is also where it's most predictably possible to make a difference in society: the political process can be influenced by outsiders somewhat reliably, whereas the cultural or social processes can be extremely unpredictable in response to a given stimulus.
I may easily be forgetting something, or this may require a certain amount of insider knowledge to uderstand. Feel free to ask questions.
3. If another room opened up as a gaming lounge, would you still stop by?
Of course. Not as much, I admit, but I am interested in you guys as people, not just as providers of video games. After all, I did stop by to see you sometimes last year, when I had the Nathan lounge available.
4. Where would you like to travel?
I'd like to go back to Vienna, and then head NW into Germany. Britain-Scotland. The low countries. Maybe Scandinavia, although that might be strange if people mistook me for a local a lot. Outside of Europe....interests me a lot less. Especially because it isn't particularily safe to travel, especially for an American, in many places.
5. Pie or cake?
Generally depends on the varieties concerned. Pie is very hit or miss for me: either it's really good or really bad. Cakes are generally more acceptable, but but a god cake just isn't on the same level as a good pie. Especially not if the pie is fresh.
