I've talked to the computer people, and the appropriate part is on order. It was just some piece of the screen assembly, but because of how Apple packages parts, I'm getting an entirely new screen. And none of my data is lost. Really, I'm just glad that I have parents that are still willing to pay for this. I couldn't have afforded the repair by myself.
Of course, its weird to be this dependent on the library. I've been going to the library more this semester anyway, for books and whatnot. But now all my information basically comes from here, which makes a part of my brain wonder at how the library exists to disseminate information and the tehnology associated with. I don't really have any dramatic hypotheses, it''s just something I've been thinking about.
